We teach sustainability\, encouraging our volunteers and young athletes to bring reusable water bottles and eliminate the use of single-use plastic at each event. With our partnership with Board & Brew\, we promote healthy lifestyles by offering every child\, chaperone and volunteer a healthy\, gourmet sandwich\, fresh fruit and nutritious snacks at every surf therapy camp. \n\nUrban Surf 4 Kids surf therapy camps pair an adult volunteer with a youth athlete for 1:1 in-water instruction. Our staff are CPR / First Aid certified and lifeguards are skilled\, certified and trained water experts. The safety of our attendees is our utmost priority. \n\nWe provide an Ohana (the Hawaiian word for family) to our youth through our strong volunteer base. We have been offering surf therapy for over 17 years in San Diego County and we look forward to creating more young stewards of the outdoors\, young advocates for our oceans and beaches\, and empowered youth through healthy relationships on and off the beach. \n\nIf you are interested in volunteering your group\, sponsoring an event\, hosting a donation drive\, and partnering with us\, please contact us here.

SUMMARY:2026 Wet Hops Volunteer Harvest Day
DESCRIPTION:2026 Wet Hops Volunteer Harvest Day \nThis year marks our 9th annual Wet Hop Collaboration with HorseThief Hops. \nWe are so exited to be back at San Diego Brewing Company again this year for this amazing tradition. \nThis event started as a grassroots effort to support a small nonprofit and has grown into a cherished community partnership. Over the years\, we’ve teamed up with some of San Diego’s most respected breweries\, including Pizza Port Carlsbad\, Thorn Brewing\, Five Suits\, Ketch\, Harland\, San Diego Brewing Co. and Duckfoot. \nWhat began as a labor of love has evolved into a rad\, long-standing collaboration between Urban Surf 4 Kids and the local craft beer scene\, raising funds and awareness for San Diego’s youth living in foster\, kinship\, and adoptive care. \nFriday August 14th\n9am-1pm\nSan Diego Brewing Co. \n10450 Friars Rd.\nSan Diego\, CA 92120 \nAttire: Please dress comfortably. Volunteers will be standing for the de-bining.\nThis is an age 21+ volunteer event. \nTips and extra info: \nWear comfortable shoes and bring gloves. There will be lots of standing\, we will be indoors. \nWe will be picking the hops off the bines at San Diego Brewing Co. from 9am-1pm so that the hops will be ready for the whirlpool directly afterward. The hops are being donated by Horse Thief Hops and will go into a limited edition wet hops beer whose sales will benefit Urban Surf 4 Kids’ programs. \n\nThank you to all who have signed\, up. We’ll see you tomorrow at 9am. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Volunteer Form\n\n\n\nYesNo\n \n\n\n\n	Name *\n \n\n\n	Email *\n \n\n\n	Phone *\n \n\n\n	Mailing Address\n \n\n\n	Profession\n \n\n\n	Additional Info\n \n\n\n	Please review our US4K Code of Conduct.\n \n\n\n	I agree to the Urban Surf 4 Kids Code of Conduct*\n \n\n\n Subscribe me to your newsletter\n \n\n\n \n\n[ls_content_block id="2166" varmax="20"]

We strive to create safe spaces for children overcoming trauma between the ages of 3-18 so that they may have equal access to the transformative power of the ocean. \n\nAdditionally\, we practice "Leave no Trace" policies\, ensuring we leave our beaches cleaner after every event.
