2026 Surf Therapy Camp - March 29

Sunday March 29, 2026

Surf Therapy Camp at La Jolla Shores
8400 El Paseo Grande
La Jolla, CA 92037

Our Surf Therapy Camps serve foster youth, and children living in kinship and adoptive care.

Please check the email you provide for additional details if you have not attended a surf camp this season. Emails will be sent out the week of the event by jaidyn@us4k.org.

For kids who want to attend but not surf: We will have a sign up for non-surfers so athletes can enjoy recreational activities and sports with our on land activities/recreation volunteers during the session. **Recreational activities do not include boogie boarding or other water time.

Any Questions? Please contact our Surf Therapy Camp Coordinator.

**We try to maintain a 1/1 ratio of kids to volunteers in the water so if you want to volunteer, please do so as soon as possible, and don’t wait until the day before the event. Every US4K surf therapy camp is themed and we pride ourselves on collaboration with the community including: nonprofit organizations, businesses, volunteer groups, clubs, and foundations. We strive to create safe spaces for children overcoming trauma between the ages of 3-18 so that they may have equal access to the transformative power of the ocean.

Additionally, we practice "Leave no Trace" policies, ensuring we leave our beaches cleaner after every event. We teach sustainability, encouraging our volunteers and young athletes to bring reusable water bottles and eliminate the use of single-use plastic at each event. With our partnership with Board & Brew, we promote healthy lifestyles by offering every child, chaperone and volunteer a healthy, gourmet sandwich, fresh fruit and nutritious snacks at every surf therapy camp.

Urban Surf 4 Kids surf therapy camps pair an adult volunteer with a youth athlete for 1:1 in-water instruction. Our staff are CPR / First Aid certified and lifeguards are skilled, certified and trained water experts. The safety of our attendees is our utmost priority.

We provide an Ohana (the Hawaiian word for family) to our youth through our strong volunteer base. We have been offering surf therapy for over 17 years in San Diego County and we look forward to creating more young stewards of the outdoors, young advocates for our oceans and beaches, and empowered youth through healthy relationships on and off the beach.

If you are interested in volunteering your group, sponsoring an event, hosting a donation drive, and partnering with us, please contact us here.
