Surf Therapy Camps

SURF, SUN, AND SMILES.

If you’ve ever been to a US4K surf camp, you know you’re in for a life changing day!

At each surf camp our Ohana provides a family fun day for both foster youth and volunteers. This day is designed to introduce our youth to the healing natures of the ocean, while interacting with fellow foster youth and mentors.

What to expect:

Free surf lessons with the best in water team in San Diego!

Lunch provided by Board and Brew

New friends and a big Ohana (family)

Motivational speakers and resources for youth

Don’t miss out on a life changing day with the US4K Ohana!

Ready to volunteer? Fill out our Volunteer Application. You’ll be added to our volunteer mailing list to inform you when each of our upcoming events will be accepting volunteer sign ups.

Then, find a Surf Camp or Event so you can join our mission to help children heal through surf therapy share with a child the gift of surf.

Do you have a youth participant athlete? Fill out our Participant Athlete Form for each participant in your group on the event(s) that you choose throughout our season.

Dreaming of Aloha Achievement Program

AN ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME.

Our Dreaming of Aloha Achievement Program is a chance for our youth to experience and be engulfed in the surf mecca of the world. Hawaii is a magical place that we get to share with a group of kids that earn an opportunity to participate in this unique program through community service, good behavior in their programs, maintaining good grades, and more.

It’s not just a trip to Hawaii, it’s a chance of a lifetime to connect with youth in similar situations and similar life challenges, an opportunity to volunteer with Mauli Ola Foundation for a day, a non-profit dedicated to serving youth with Cystic Fibrosis. It’s a chance to participate in the opening of the Eddie Aikau ceremonies, learn more about Hawaiian culture, and so many things that can’t be put into words.

Hanai Mentoring Program

BUILD A LASTING BOND

What is Hanai? In Polynesian culture, Hanai is an informal adoption into a family. Our Hanai program provides an awesome opportunity for our volunteers to connect with and develop relationships with our youth on a more personal and consistent basis. Each group meets monthly (on a Saturday or Sunday) with the same set of volunteers and youth throughout the season. Some examples of monthly Hanai outings in the past include: paddle boarding, the aquarium, surf days, rock climbing, trampoline parks, and hiking. We love to get the youth we work with outside, active, and interested in giving back to the community. More importantly, we strive to provide a consistent and dependable Hanai community that these youth learn they can count on and turn to for support. Our Hanai volunteers have an immeasurable impact on our youth.

If you’re interested in being a part of this incredible program please contact our Executive Director, Roxanne Avant, roxanne@us4k.org
